Press Release: Kern County Museum

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Kern County Museum Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of

DISCOVERY WORLD, the newest and most exciting childrens’ exhibition

at the Kern County Museum on June 9. The new Gallery will lead young (and the young

at heart) through a multi-disciplined learning environment not seen before here in Kern

County. 

Exhibits range from HISTORY, GEOGRAPHY, ART, SCIENCE, and MATH – in many

cases encompassing more than one subject.

The focal point of the new exhibit is ‘The Map That Will Floor You’ – the largest

interactive map in the area – students will walk across the Country, learning about states as

they pass through them. It’s an unusual and amazing way to learn about this great country.

Also, the new Light & Illusion room will astound and amaze with an array of color and

shapes created by the visitors themselves.

The Exhibition opens with over a dozen new exhibits and a commitment by the Museum

to add one new exhibit each month for the next two years, making DISCOVERY

WORLD the largest and most exciting learning gallery in central California.
